REMOTE LEARNING AT ABS PARIS – OUR COMMITMENT TO ALL OUR STUDENTS

As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, ABS Paris is using remote delivery to complete the remaining course sessions for the Spring 2020 semester. Faculty is using a mix of platforms and technologies to deliver lectures, course materials, and support for their students so that all students can complete their courses and earn their credits. From Wednesday March 25th, the Vice Provost office will be publishing a Remote Teaching Plan as an addendum for each Spring 2020 course syllabus to be clear and transparent in what changes have been made, and what is expected of students in order for them to successfully complete their coursework for the semester.

As many of our students have returned to their homes, and as the student population at ABS Paris represents more than 70 nationalities, we cannot assure live online sessions as some schools are doing. Therefore, we are grateful to have many technological options available to allow teachers to remain in contact with their students, and for students to remain in touch with each other. This is why the Remote Teaching Plan for each syllabus is important. It allows students to know how and when they can contact their professors as well as keep up with their coursework.

Another important dimension in successfully completing the semester depends on students remaining in contact with each other to complete their group projects. Group projects are a critical element of a student’s experience at ABS Paris and therefore we are ensuring that group projects in many classes continue, even with the added complications of distance and time zones.

This is a challenging time for everyone and we are extremely grateful to our faculty for their exceptional efforts in transforming their course work for remote delivery, and proud and appreciative of our students who are working hard to establish their home-based study habits and ensure they keep engaged and committed to completing their courses. We will continue to keep you informed as the semester progresses.
