Security Alert

November 23rd, 2015

Dear students,

We are taking back little by little our daily life.
Our best way to face the terror is our love of life and the observation of the French authorities instructions.
At IGS Group, we are increasing our security measures and different supports towards the employees and the students.
Please notice that there is public session of Psychological Support on Monday November 23rd at 11h15, amphitheater 012, Parodi building. You are most welcome.
In addition, we have the opportunity to offer individual psychological support for any student who would like to be assisted to overcome the tragedy of the violent last Friday.
Please email me in case you need this support and we’ll put you in contact with Anglophone psychologists.
I encourage you to keep your love of life strong inside you: it’s our key of success and victory.

Kindest regards,

Fady Fadel, Ph.D.

Dear Parents,

After the tragic events which took place in Paris last Friday, the team at The American Business School of Paris has been deeply affected by fate suffered by the victims and the pain of their families. Immediately after the events, the IGS Group and our school implemented a crisis unit enabling us to track all our students, check on their safety, and communicate the security measures that were being put into place.

On Monday morning, the security measures on campus had been strengthened under the procedures prescribed by the French authorities’ “Vigipirate Alert” system. Only people with an employee or student ID card (or certificate of attendance)) are allowed on campus unless personally accompanied.

Furthermore, we postponed the exams and assessments scheduled this week until next week, and worked closely with our teachers to listen to students and reassure them when necessary. In addition, psychologists have been made available for students who are in need of personalized professional support.

Today, we are working to ensure the safety of all our students and employees while they are on the IGS Group campuses and also to stay in touch with them after hours. We have implemented all the relevant security measures recommended by the French authorities for their well-being and safety.

We appreciate and understand your concern and worries over the present situation in Paris. The safety of our personnel (students, teachers and staff) is our priority. Do not hesitate to contact us at any time. I am available at your convenience by email (, and on my personal phone number: +33 6 78582288.

Thank you for your confidence and your wishes and words of support.
With warmest regards,
Paris, November 19th 2015

Dear ABSParis Alumni,
Dear colleagues and ABSParis friends,

First and foremost we hope that you and your loved ones are safe and well.
We had a violent Friday and we are still shocked by the terror. Our thoughts go out to the victims, their families and friends, and everyone who is suffering because of the attacks.

Our will to keep moving forward and our resolve to overcome the threat will booster our sense of community and togetherness.
Thank you for replying to our invitation to attend or not the 30th anniversary of the ABSParis, planned to be held this coming Thursday November 19th.

Due to the high national security level and the recent state of emergency, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the event till early in 2016. We appreciate your understanding and we will get back to you as soon as possible with the new date of the 30th anniversary event.

Thank you for all your thoughts, your supportive emails, and “likes” posted on the social networks. We appreciate the tremendous outpouring of community spirit that we are surrounded by.

Take good care and please be safe.

Kindest regards,

Fady Fadel, Ph.D.

Dear ABSParis students,

The sun had risen today on Paris, a sign of victory of light and our will to keep moving forward.

Our thoughts go out to the victims, their families, friends and everyone who is suffering because of Friday’s terror attacks.

Please note that for now, and according to instructions from the French authorities, the School will open tomorrow. We have asked the instructors to postpone any exams and quizzes and focus on your well-being, class discussion and the course materials. Off-campus activities are postponed or cancelled.

If you cannot attend your classes on Monday, please email your professor and Sara Pax, Associate Dean ( in order to let us know your situation. Some of you have requested to take classes this week online or through Skype. Unfortunately, we are a small school and we don’t have the resources and infrastructure to set this up with such short notice, however it is something we will be looking into for the future.

Tomorrow at 12:00 noon we will observe a minute of silence on the IGS Group campus, a sign of our sympathy for the victims and their families. Wherever you are, we would appreciate you sharing this gesture with us.

Our on campus ABS Paris team is at your disposal during regular opening hours. For questions or help during other times, please don’t hesitate to email Dean Fadel ( for further information.

Please be aware that you need to have your student ID to enter the campus tomorrow and the security officers will check your bags. For students who didn’t receive their student ID yet, you should download your “certificat de scolarité” from ECAMPUS and bring a photo ID. Then go immediately to the administration office to pick up your student ID.

We wish you all the best and keep moving forward,

Fady Fadel, Ph.D

Dear students,

As the National security plan is on the Top level (état d’urgence) facing the terror, security measures are reinforced at IGS Group campus starting from Monday November 16th:

  • You have to show your student card to the security officers on the gateway.
  • You have to allow the security officers to check your bags. Otherwise, you can’t be on campus.
  • The courses are maintained. Any other activities are cancelled or postponed on campus (lecture, competition, social event, etc.)

Thank you for your understanding.
Please stay safe and don’t hesitate to contact us for further information.

Best regards,

Fady Fadel, Ph.D.
